Modica Group, the Intelligent Messaging Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Weenink as an Independent Director.Scott is an M&A and corporate finance lawyer with over 18 years’ experience. Scott has worked in the UK, Asia, NZ and the Middle East, advising on technology, telecoms and venture capital investments together and has extensive general management and corporate secretarial experience.
Scott previously served as General Counsel and Executive Director of global telecoms company, Oooredoo Asia based in Singapore. During his time with Ooredoo Asia, he was a Director on various companies including Ooredoo Myanmar and Liberty Telecoms.
Prior to joining Ooredoo Scott advised on all M&A and finance work at Spark (formerly Telecom New Zealand). SinceFebruary 2016 Scott has been General Counsel & Company Secretary of New Zealand’s largest listed company, Auckland International Airport Limited.
Scott has a Masters in Law from Oxford University (Wolfson College) and has completed an Executive Management course at Chicago University’s Booth School of Business. He obtained his degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Major in English Literature, and Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University. He is also admitted to the Bar in NZ, NSW and the UK.
