About the opportunity

As a Senior Front-End Developer, you wlll be responsible for developing and promoting Modica Group’s style guide as well as maintaining and improving brand consistency across all of our clientele, making sure user experience requirements are met, ensuring accessibility standards are met and optimising web pages for maximum efficiency.

You will be responsible for developing our software systems, platforms, infrastructure, client applications and in particular, assisting the company’s approach in product delivery. Working in product teams alongside User Experience Designers, Back end Developers and Product Owners you:

  • Understand our customer’s problems and deliver outstanding solutions to match.
  • Communicate and advocate for proper design and development techniques across functions.
  • Build technical proficiency to understand how your work fits in to the “bigger picture”.

As a Senior, you demonstrate leadership in all aspects of your life at Modica by exemplifying a customer-focused mindset, mentoring junior/intermediate developers, promoting, improving and implementing better front-end development processes and technologies and promoting collaboration across the company.

About you

Candidates with a working knowledge of:

  • Experience in frameworks (React and others)
  • TypeScript/JavaScript and at least one other language;
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3;
  • Server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and Sass;
  • Asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and AJAX;
  • Browser testing and debugging;
  • Converting business requirements and wireframes to code;
  • Content management;
  • Responsive UI;
  • Understanding of the cross-browser implications in your code;
  • Source control techniques and applications.

Ideally you will have some of the following skills:

  • Knowledge of, or experience in, PHP and Twig;
  • Understanding or experience in AWS services. Specifically, Amplify, IAM, S3
  • DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery;
  • Cross-browser development techniques (advanced);
  • Event driven architecture;
  • Product management techniques such as user experience research, product design techniques and solution experimentation;
  • Experience or understanding of Micro Frontend architecture.
