About the opportunity

As a Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer, you are responsible for being the bridge between development and operations within the Modica Group. You do this by:

  • Having a continual drive to identify and implement system improvements to maximise service availability;
  • Fixing support escalations where required;
  • Building software to help organisation and support teams;
  • Exhibiting and fostering behaviours to enable a positive learning environment at Modica;
  • Assisting non-technical staff to achieve goals with systems; and
  • Communicating effectively to enable understanding of technical concepts internally and by customers.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who:

  • An understanding of technical delivery in a DevOps Engineering Environment
  • Hands-on experience in administering large-scale SaaS applications in one of the major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with SQL Database administration, like PostgreSQL (preferred) or MySQL.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code software, such as Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge and of hands-on experience with Linux 
  • 2+ years' experience solving server performance issues and optimisation including systems monitoring 
  • Fluent in writing code with experience coding in a popular coding language 
  • Solid diagnostics skills with the ability to troubleshoot 
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Timely in completing work
  • Intellectually curious and have a strong sense of continuous improvement 
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
