Modica Group Joins GSMA Open Gateway Initiative to Unlock New Mobile Network Capabilities

Modica Group, a global leader in intelligent enterprise communications and cloud‑based messaging technology, is now an official supporter of the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, a global framework that standardises access to mobile operator network capabilities via common APIs.

By joining this pivotal initiative, Modica Group aligns itself with a global ecosystem of mobile network operators, technology innovators, and service providers who are enabling simplified, secure, and standardised access to network capabilities. This supports faster development, integration, and deployment of enterprise‑grade communications services across industries.

GSMA Open Gateway is designed to accelerate innovation by exposing standardised network APIs that allow developers and businesses to programmatically access mobile operator services, removing traditional barriers to integration and enabling services that support mobile identity, secure communications, fraud detection, and more. The initiative now includes more than 80 mobile operator groups representing over 80% of worldwide mobile connections.

"This collaboration with GSMA marks an exciting moment for Modica and for the region’s telecom sector. By adopting global frameworks like the GSMA Open Gateway Initiative, we’re helping mobile operators offer secure, consistent API access to their business customers while giving developers the tools they need to build new digital services with confidence. Simplifying connectivity has always been at the heart of what we do, and this partnership pushes CPaaS and telecom innovation forward, said Stuart Wilson, CEO of Modica Group.

Modica’s OMNI CPaaS platform already connects directly to mobile networks globally, providing mobile networks a powerful and secure white label solution and their business customers with high‑volume messaging, two‑way communications, and API‑driven services used in critical workflows, from two‑factor authentication and alerts to customer engagement, transactional messaging and rich media messaging services.

Through its participation in the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, Modica Group will support the adoption of standardised APIs that enable:

  • Direct integration with mobile networks for real‑time services
  • Secure mobile identity and verification workflows
  • Enhanced fraud prevention and authentication capabilities
  • Faster deployment of mobile network‑driven applications across sectors

Henry Calvert, Head of Networks at GSMA, remarked: “We welcome Modica Group, our first channel partner from the Australia and New Zealand region to the Open Gateway community. Their deep experience in cloud‑based communications and mission‑critical messaging solutions brings valuable expertise to the initiative and will help enterprises unlock mobile network capabilities more efficiently and securely.”

Modica Group’s alignment with the GSMA Open Gateway underscores its dedication to fostering open, secure, and interoperable communication ecosystems, solidifying its position as a trusted partner for enterprises and developers creating the next generation of mobile-enabled services.
